Shirell L. Pressley joined Mt. Seal United Methodist
Church in 2024. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in
South Carolina by her grandmother, Shirell has
worked in various professions throughout her life.

After graduating from Kingstree Senior High School,
she became a mother of one son, Fredrick Pressley,
and proudly served three years in the U.S. Army.
Following her military service, she began a career in
law enforcement in Williamsburg County, serving as a
detention center officer, a magistrate court clerk, and
eventually a Deputy Sheriff.

Dedicated to furthering her education, in 2024, Shirell
earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration with a minor in Accounting at Coastal
Carolina University.

Since joining Mt. Seal UMC, she has shown a deep
commitment to spiritual growth and service. She
currently serves as Assistant Secretary, is an active
member of the United Women in Faith (UWF), sings in
the Mt. Seal UMC Choir, and recently completed the
Basic Lay Servant Course.

Through these experiences, Shirell has not only grown
in her faith but has also formed meaningful
connections with the church community.
